The Press Room, crafted in the tradition of speakeasyies, is a bar and lounge tucked away inside the AC Hotel Greenville. Since November 9th, the space has been transformed into The Après Ski Lodge Bar & Lounge, a new pop-up winter wonderland created in partnership with Veuve Clicquot.
This one-of-a-kind concept feels a bit like a members-only club, but with an approachable, comfortable air. It captures the après ski (French for “after skiing”) feel of high-end winter resorts and ski lodges around the world. The vibe is inspired by the legendary memories of friends loosening their boots and reuniting over drinks after an epic day on the slopes. The space also serves as a premier venue to host unique, fully-decorated business and small group gatherings, such as holiday parties. Buyout packages include food and beverage spend.
The unique, immersive experience combines alpine cabin comfort with a flair for the quirky. A life-sized yeti welcomes all guests and is more than happy to pose for a selfie. The rustic, ski-themed décor features sprawling, snow-capped mountain peaks that transport you to the base of a 14,000 foot slope in the French Alps. Patrons can relax by the fireplace and be served by staff fully decked-out in puffer vests and knit caps.
The Après Ski Bar & Lounge at The Press Room, well-known for its handcrafted, specialty cocktails, features a new limited edition drink menu, creatively curated by Beverage Director Baileigh Wilson. This fun, yet sophisticated drink menu embraces tongue-in-cheek names such as “Yeti or Not, Here We Come” and “Ski Patrol”. Plenty of funky, craveable snacks have also been added to the menu, such as truffle-infused popcorn and artisan beef jerky.
This pop-up concept is located in the AC Hotel on the 2nd floor. To access it, just enter at the Juniper / Press Room elevator located in Camperdown Plaza on the side of the AC Hotel Greenville, right next to Perfect Buns.
The Press Room speakeasy has been transformed into the Après Ski Lodge Bar & Lounge experience for a limited time, now through February 18, 2024. Operating hours are Thu & Fri 5:00 pm to 10:30 pm, Sat & Sun 5:00 pm to midnight.
Entry is 21+ and walk-ins are welcome on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations are also available for smaller groups and can be made at OpenTable. Spots for larger parties of 8+ can be made by emailing skilodge@pressroomgvl.com.
Buyouts are available to make this the ultimate space for unforgettable, fully-decorated business and small group gatherings, such as office holiday parties.
